Corobici River - Class II
This is the calmest rafting trip offered in Costa Rica, safe enough for children, and gentle enough for the elderly to enjoy. This river provides leisurely rafting with a chance to see a multitude of birds and monkeys in the trees along the river banks.
Sarapiqui River - Class III
A wild, free-flowing river located in the northeastern area of Costa Rica. This is a good river for beginners since the rapids are moderate. The Sarapiqui flows north to the border of Nicaragua, offering challenging rapids and lush scenery.
Reventazon River - Class III
This is a truly delightful rafting experience that everyone will enjoy. Pacuare River - Class IV-V

International Scale of River Difficulty
Class I
Moving water, a few riffles and small waves. Few or no obstructions.
Class II
Easy rapids with waves up to three feet, and wide, clear channels that are obvious without scouting. Some maneuvering is required.
Class III
Rapids with high, irregular waves often capable of swamping an open canoe. Narrow passages that often require complex maneuvering.
Class IV
Long, difficult rapids with constricted passages that often require precise maneuvering in very turbulent waters.
Class V
Extremely difficult, long, and very violent rapids with highly congested routes that nearly always must be scouted from shore.
